Introduction:

Water Sector Trust Fund (WaterFund) is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation in Kenya, and mandated under Kenya’s Water Act 2016 to assist in financing water, sanitation and water resources management programmes in the underserved and marginalized rural and urban areas in Kenya. The Water Sector Trust Fund (WaterFund), is the organizing host for the Water and Sanitation Investors Conference (WASIC) 2024. This website is operated by the Water Sector Trust Fund (WSTF or WaterFund), as the organizing host and coordinator of WASIC 2024.

1.0. Terms of Service:

1.1. Throughout the site, the terms “WASIC Organizers”, “WASIC Host”, “we”, “us’, “our”, refers to the Water Sector Trust Fund as the organizing host and coordinator of WASIC 2024. WASIC Organizers offer this website, including all information, tools and services available from this site for purposes relating to information about, registration of (delegate, exhibitor, convenor sessions), and for sponsorship and partnership purposes.

1.2. The services provided are conditioned upon acceptance of all the general terms, conditions, policies and notices stated here.

1.2.1. Please read these Terms of Service carefully before accessing or using the WASIC website.

1.2.2. Any new features, tools or information, added at any time to the current website shall also be subject to these Terms of Service and General Terms and Conditions. You can review the most current version of the Terms of Service at any time on this page.

1.3. WASIC Organizers reserve the right to update, change or replace any part of these Terms of Service and General Terms and Conditions by posting updates and/or changes to our website. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to the website following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

1.4. In the event that any part of the provisions of these Terms of Service is determined to be unlawful, void or unenforceable, such provision shall nonetheless be enforceable to the extent permitted by applicable law, and the unenforceable portion shall be deemed to be severed from these Terms of Service, and such determination shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any other remaining provisions.

1.5. The failure of WASIC Organizers to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms of Service shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. Any ambiguities in the interpretation of these General Terms and Conditions, shall not be construed against the drafting party, in this case WASIC Host.

 
2.0. Accuracy, Completeness and Timeliness of Information:

2.1. The material on this site is provided for general information only and has been compiled in good faith, and to the best of our knowledge at the point of compilation.

2.2. This site may contain certain historical information that may not be current and is provided for your reference only. WASIC Organizers reserve the right to modify the contents of this site at any time. As a user, you agree that it is your responsibility to monitor changes to the site.

3.0. Privacy Statements:

3.1. Respecting your privacy rights is important to us. This Privacy Statement relates to the collection, use, and disclosure of data, images or video by WASIC Organizers and its affiliates.

3.2. During the use of the WASIC website, or interaction with us at the Conference and related activities, WASIC Organizers may collect Personal and Non-Personal Data that associate with you.

3.2.1. Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

Through the website, WASIC Organizers shall collect data about you, either directly or indirectly, your transactions or transactions you effect, financial information, interactions and dealings with WASIC, including information received from third parties, the public domain, collected through the use of WASIC website, cookies, and WASIC digital advisory services.

3.2.3. Non-Personal Data is any information that does not relate to a person and/or cannot be used to identify a person. When you interact with our Services, we may collect Non-Personal Data. The limitations and requirements in this Privacy Policy on our collection, use, disclosure, transfer, and storage/retention of Personal Data do not apply to Non-Personal Data.

3.3. WASIC Organizers may act as either a data controller or a data processor in respect of your data, depending on the circumstances.

3.3.1. A data controller means a natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which, alone or jointly with others, determines the purpose and means of processing of personal data.

3.3.2. A data processor means a natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which processes personal data on behalf of the data controller;

3.4. WASIC Organizers will uphold data protection as provided for in Kenya’s Data Protection Act 2019.

3.5. Any questions you may have relating to your Personal Data and your rights under data protection law can be directed to WASIC Organizers via the various forms of communication listed on this website.

3.6. WASIC Organizers do not knowingly collect Personal or Non-Personal Data from persons under the age of eighteen (18). If you are under eighteen (18), you must confirm that you have permission of your parent or guardian to submit any content.

3.7. By attending the WASIC Conference, you grant permission for your photographs and videos taken during the event to be used by Water Sector Trust Fund and WASIC Organizing Committee for commercial and personal purposes, including marketing materials and online platforms. You understand and accept that you will not receive compensation for the use of your image. By entering the conference premises, you release WASIC Organizers from any related liability. Images and videos may be publicly accessible.

WASIC TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR WASIC 2024 REGISTRATIONS, FEES AND PAYMENTS

1.0. Payments Refund Policy:

Registrations to WASIC 2024 once made and paid for are subject to the following terms and conditions:

1.1. Refunds

1.1.1. Delegates Registration Payments cancelled on or before 30th November 2023 will receive full refund exclusive of any transfer / transactional charges and exchange losses.

1.1.2. Exhibitions Registration Payments cancelled on or before 30th November 2023 will receive full refund exclusive of any transfer / transactional charges and exchange losses.

1.2. Partial refunds will be made for any registrations cancelled by 31st December 2023 only as follows:

1.2.1. Delegate Fees cancelled within this period shall receive a 50% refund of the amount paid.

1.2.2. Exhibition Fees cancelled within this period shall receive a 60% refund of the amount paid

1.3. Convener Sessions

1.3.1. Convenor sessions once paid for are non-refundable since by this time they have been reviewed and factored in the Programme.

1.4. Partnerships and Sponsorships

1.4.1. Payments already made by Partners and Sponsors and allocated to specific items in sections 1.1 to 1.3 will be subject to the applicable cancellation policy.

1.4.2. Additional support by Partnerships and Sponsorships to other WASIC costs is by mutual agreement between the Parties and WASIC Organizers, and shall be governed by that agreement.

2.0. Transfer Policy:

2.1. WASIC Organisers shall permit a transfer of a paid delegate registration to another person if the original registrant can’t attend. The transfer will however only be accepted not later than 31st January 3024, for effective delegates management.

2.2. WASIC Organisers shall also permit a transfer of a registered, approved and paid exhibition booth from one organisation to another, should this be required, to be done not later than 31st January, 2024. The organisation taking over the exhibition space shall however be required to submit an exhibition application that must be approved prior to confirmation of the transfer.

2.3. WASIC Organisers shall NOT permit any transfer of a convenor session from one organisation to another, should the originator be unable to run the reserved session. In such a case, the organization’s session shall be deemed cancelled.

3.0. Force Majeure or Event Cancellation:

3.1. In the event of cancellation of the event due to unforeseen circumstances, all registrations fees paid for delegates, exhibitors and session convenors shall be refunded excluding transfer / transaction and exchange loss charges. WASIC Organizers may also deduct a percentage of Conference preparation charges already incurred.
